Literature

Math
This week will review:

  • counting to 120
  • estimating
  • ordering numbers
  • counting forward and backward by one or ten
Science
We will take a closer look at the moon and the inner planets. We will learn about Apollo 11, Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars.

History
This week we will learn about Lewis and Clark and Sacagawea. We will discuss the roles they each played in the exploration of the West.

Believe it or not, the fourth annual mandatory Archway Lincoln Spring Concert is fast approaching.
It will be held on Thursday, April 4 at the
Higley Center for the Performing Arts
4132 E. Pecos Road Gilbert, AZ 85295.
The K-2 concert will be 5:30-6:30 p.m. with students arriving at 5:15 p.m.
The 3-5 concert will be 7-8 p.m. with students arriving at 6:45 p.m.
Attire for concerts is as follows:
Boys: White dress shirt, black pants, black dress shoes, and black socks. Hair should be combed neatly.
Girls: White top, black skirt (black tights optional), or black dress pants, and black dress shoes. Hair should be styled neatly.

Week of March 25th

Welcome to the second week of the fourth quarter! We had such a great time on our field trip at the zoo on Friday! Thank you to all of you who volunteered to make this possible.

Week of March 18th

I hope you have all had a relaxing and fun Spring Break! It is hard to believe that I only have a short nine weeks left with your children. This is always a bittersweet time for me. It has been a pleasure witnessing the emotional and academic growth of each child these past three quarters and it saddens me to think of them heading upstairs to bigger and better things. I am looking forward to finishing this year strong and am so grateful for everything you have done to make this possible.

Literature
We will continue reading the second My Father's Dragon book. If you have not yet sent this book in for your child please plan to do so this week.

Math
This week we will introduce time. We will practice reading the clock and telling time to the hour and half hour. We will also estimate time. There will be a quiz at the end of the week.

Science
We will continue to explore the solar system.

History
This week we learn about the Capitol Building, the White House and the Bald Eagle. We will complete illustrations and copywork and finish our symbols flip book.
