Literature
This week in we will begin reading My Father's Dragon. If you have not brought this book in yet please do so on Monday. 

Math
This week in math we will test on equal groups (division) on Tuesday. We will review shapes and take a look at fractions. Our focus will be halves and fourths.

Science
This week we continue to learn about the respiratory system. We will review and wrap up our unit on the human body.

History
This week we learn about who Ben Franklin and George Washington were. We will begin studying the various national symbols.

We would like to thank you all for being flexible in rescheduling our field trip. If the change in date effects your ability to chaperone please reach out to your child's teacher directly.

In Curriculum This Week

Spalding
Due to the holiday and our field trip we will not be doing Spalding this week. We will be doing vocabulary lessons and activities during our regularly scheduled Spalding time.

Literature
In Literature we will begin reading Sam The Minuteman. Please send this book to school on Tuesday if you have not already.

Singapore Math
We will be testing on equal groups in math this Tuesday. We will begin equal grouping (division).

Science
In Science this week we will continue studying about the neurological and respiratory systems.

History
In history we will be discussing the American Revolution and the Declaration of Independence.

This week we will dive into Little Red Riding Hood from around the globe. We will hear this beloved tale from Germany, China and Korea.

This week we will add three numbers together before reviewing and testing on Thursday. On Friday we take a closer look at equal groups.

Science
This we will continue studying the human body and learning about the muscular system, nutrition and digestive system.

History
We will finish putting our book together on Early Settlers and Explorers. In our next unit will be learning about the 13 colonies and how they became independent.
